Nobody remembers who built the little settlement. By the time anyone arrived, the Chubos were already there. The neighborhood is a patch of weathered cabins and old trailers stitched together with string lights that never seem to burn out and a campfire that always finds its way back before night falls. Every Chubo belongs to the same green herd, yet each carries a habit that makes them impossible to mistake. One never removes a faded cap. Another keeps dark glasses on long after sunset. One still walks around with a balloon, and nobody asks why anymore. There are 10,000 Chubos, but you don't choose your neighbor.
