What Is Robinhood Chain? The Complete 2026 Guide to Robinhood’s Ethereum Layer 2
Robinhood Chain explained: how the Arbitrum-based Layer 2 works, what launched on mainnet in July 2026, chain ID and network details, Stock Tokens, NFTs, and what it means for collectors.

Robinhood Chain in one paragraph
Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network built and operated by Robinhood Crypto on the Arbitrum Orbit framework, the same Nitro technology stack that powers Arbitrum One. It is public and permissionless: anyone with an EVM wallet can bridge in, deploy a contract, mint an NFT, or trade. Its stated purpose is to bring real-world assets on-chain, starting with Robinhood’s own Stock Tokens, while running the familiar DeFi, NFT, and memecoin stack alongside them.
The public testnet opened on 10 February 2026 and processed more than 200 million transactions before mainnet. Public mainnet went live on 1 July 2026, announced at Robinhood’s ‘The World is Flat’ keynote at the Old Royal Naval College in London. Within its first week it ranked among the most active networks in crypto by decentralized-exchange volume, and on 13 July it recorded 10.4 million transactions in a single day, briefly passing Coinbase’s Base.
How the technology works
Under the hood, Robinhood Chain is an optimistic rollup. Transactions execute on the L2 sequencer with roughly 100 millisecond block times, and the resulting data is posted to Ethereum using blob transactions, so security and finality ultimately inherit from Ethereum mainnet. Arbitrum Orbit supplies the rollup machinery, fraud proofs, and the canonical bridge; Robinhood configures and runs the network.
Because the chain is fully EVM-compatible, every tool a collector already uses on Ethereum works here: MetaMask, Rabby, and other injected wallets; Foundry and Hardhat for developers; ERC-721 and ERC-1155 for NFTs; and standard block explorers. Gas is paid in ETH, and fees are a fraction of Ethereum mainnet, which is why free and low-cost NFT mints became common in the first weeks.
- Network: Robinhood Chain (mainnet), chain ID 4663; testnet chain ID 46630
- Native gas token: ETH
- Public RPC: rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com (rate-limited); Alchemy, QuickNode, dRPC, and others offer dedicated endpoints
- Explorers: robinscan.io and robinhoodchain.blockscout.com
- Bridging: the canonical Arbitrum bridge at portal.arbitrum.io, plus third-party fast bridges
What launched on day one
Robinhood did not launch an empty chain. Uniswap deployed v2, v3, v4, and UniswapX on day one and is running a dedicated AMM as the network’s core public liquidity venue. Chainlink provides price feeds and cross-chain infrastructure. Alchemy supplies developer infrastructure, and BitGo handles institutional custody. Pleiades launched a proprietary AMM, and perpetuals venues including Lighter, Arcus (from the dYdX team), and Rialto joined the trading stack.
Alongside the chain, Robinhood announced Stock Tokens available through Robinhood Wallet in more than 120 countries, a decentralized-lending product called Robinhood Earn built on Morpho, expanded perpetual futures, and agentic trading tools that let AI agents execute strategies with human-controlled limits. The chain is the settlement layer that ties those pieces together.
Stock Tokens, NFTs, and memecoins: what actually trades
Stock Tokens are ERC-20 tokens that track the price of US equities and ETFs such as NVDA, AAPL, and GOOG. They trade around the clock, settle in seconds, and can be used as collateral or paired in liquidity pools. OpenSea alone listed more than 90 Stock Tokens when it added Robinhood Chain support on 11 July 2026. Holders should understand the caveat: a Stock Token gives price exposure, not direct legal ownership of the underlying share.
The surprise of the launch was culture, not finance. NFT collections such as Onchain Lions, pyopyopyopyo, Robinhood Punks, and Cash Cats drove sustained trading, and memecoins led by CASHCAT briefly made Robinhood Chain one of the busiest networks anywhere. By some estimates tokenized real-world assets accounted for only about 4 percent of value locked on the chain in July, with asset management, lending, and spot exchanges holding the rest. Robinhood’s CEO acknowledged the trend, noting the chain was built for real-world assets but ‘works great for memes too’.
Why Robinhood Chain matters for NFT collectors
Three things make this chain different from the average new L2. First, distribution: Robinhood serves nearly 28 million customers across 38 countries, and Robinhood Wallet gives many of them a native on-ramp to the chain. Second, assets: Stock Tokens create a new reward primitive, and projects like RHEarn already pay NFT holders in Stock Tokens rather than in a project token. Third, timing: the chain launched into a broader market that analysts at Bernstein and others expect to stay constructive into 2027.
For collectors this means new collections launching weekly, cheap mints, deep OpenSea support, and a culture that is still forming. It also means the usual early-ecosystem risks: copied art, anonymous teams, unverified contracts, and social feeds full of fake links. RHMints exists to make that discovery process safer, with an upcoming-mint calendar, a live mint tracker, and a holders leaderboard focused on this chain.
- Track upcoming Robinhood Chain mints on the RHMints calendar before they open
- Confirm every contract on Robinscan before signing a mint transaction
- Compare unique minters with total mints once a drop goes live
- Follow project accounts from official links only, never from replies or DMs
Robinhood Chain versus Base, Arbitrum One, and Ink
Base is Coinbase’s Optimism-stack L2 and remains larger by total value and app count. Arbitrum One is the general-purpose parent network that shares Robinhood Chain’s technology. Ink is Kraken’s Optimism-stack L2 with a DeFi focus. Robinhood Chain’s distinct angle is regulated real-world assets and Stock Tokens as native building blocks, backed by a brokerage with a very large retail footprint.
None of that guarantees any individual collection will succeed. Treat chain fundamentals as context, and evaluate each mint on its own terms: the team, the contract, the supply, the price, and what the token actually gives you.

Frequently asked questions
Is Robinhood Chain an Ethereum Layer 2?
Yes. It is an optimistic rollup built on Arbitrum Orbit that posts data to Ethereum using blobs, so it inherits Ethereum’s security while offering faster, cheaper transactions.
What is the Robinhood Chain chain ID?
The mainnet chain ID is 4663, which spells HOOD on a phone keypad. The testnet chain ID is 46630.
What token is used for gas on Robinhood Chain?
ETH. You need a small amount of ETH bridged to Robinhood Chain to pay for mints, transfers, and swaps.
Does Robinhood Chain have its own token or airdrop?
As of September 2026 Robinhood has not announced a native token or an airdrop for the chain. Treat any site claiming otherwise as a scam risk.
Can I mint and trade NFTs on Robinhood Chain?
Yes. OpenSea supports Robinhood Chain for NFTs, Stock Tokens, and memecoins, and RHMints tracks upcoming and live mints on the chain.
